A WRITER’S SOULFUL SOLITUDE

💡
Solitude—the state or situation of being alone; a lonely or uninhabited place.

Through my lens, this doesn’t always mean loneliness. A writer’s solitude is a sacred space where the mind thrives. It’s where we allow our thoughts to breathe and our words to flow onto the page. These sacred writing hours offer quiet spaces where ideas expand and where the magic of creativity happens.

Writing is a solitary act. You have a blank page, your words, and your ability to dance with the silence that can be daunting to some. It’s in the quiet that our demons echo—insecurity, self-doubt, and the need for perfection. But it’s also in the stillness of this sacred space, away from the outside world, that our rawest, most authentic ideas emerge.

The hours between midnight and 6 a.m. are my golden hours. This period allows me to dive deep within and unravel parts of my soul that hide in the noise of everyday life. A quiet, dimly lit room becomes my sanctuary. I always get things done.

Having your own sacred space for solitude is key to a consistent writing habit. Over time, it trains your mind to shift into focus mode as soon as you enter its perimeter. What’s best is it doesn’t have to be an isolated zen garden, the ocean, or the woods (although any of the three would be grand)—it only has to be a room or a corner where you can detach from the rest of the world.

Modern society offers infinite distractions. Your ability to carve safe spaces for your soul is not to be discounted. When I started on social platforms like X, the waves caught me easily. The learning is immense, but not without the cost of sacrificing my love for long-form writing. I needed to strike a balance, shift my goals, and adjust my priorities.

Stepping away from the constant buzz of other creators has given me the clarity I needed to return to where I thrive most. My newsletters crawled back up to the top of my list where they belonged. The books are now writing themselves. All because I picked a time and place and made it my soul’s sanctuary.

Do not be afraid of the silence. It is in it that you find the courage to realign your mission and reconnect with your vision. This is true for writing and for the extension of our souls in the universe.

If there’s one thing you take away from this newsletter today, make it this:

It’s easy to get trapped in the race for success. But you only truly make it when you realize there isn’t a race to be won. There is only an infinite journey to be cherished—in your sacred soulful solitude.

Stay Soulful,
Jopaz
